Process Overview

This deployment is the first domestic solution that automates modular housing window-frame assembly by combining KUKA industrial robots, a custom-designed robot gripper, and High Payload Track Motion. SPACE FACTORY introduced this window-frame assembly automation system to reduce construction costs and to produce modular housing with consistent quality.

Project Background and Objectives

In the existing operation, skilled technicians assembled sash frames manually, which required long working time, and significant manpower was needed to respond to diverse customer requirements. In addition, due to the wide work environment and the complex robot operating environment, real-time monitoring was difficult, creating limitations in process management.

The objective of this project is to dramatically reduce working time by automating the window-frame assembly process, build a standardized production system to ensure consistent quality, and maximize process management efficiency through a real-time production monitoring system.

구성요소

로봇	KUKA KR 210 R3100 industrial robot: With a maximum payload of 210 kg and a reach of 3,065 mm, this robot is optimized for high-payload handling and high-precision motion. Custom-designed robot gripper and High Payload Track Motion: These enable a range of operations including wooden material alignment and transfer, upper/lower window-frame assembly, and frame transfer.
주변기기	SOLlink Industrial system: Supports real-time monitoring of robot status and production operations, helping quickly identify and respond to process bottlenecks and delay points.

작업순서

STEP 1.	Using the custom-designed robot gripper, wooden materials are accurately aligned and transferred
STEP 2.	In accordance with the modular production system, the upper and lower sections of the window frame are automatically assembled
STEP 3.	After assembly, the robot transfers the completed wooden frame safely and accurately.
