Process Overview


This case study demonstrates the installation of a KUKA KMP 1500P logistics robot at Bigwave Robotics (Marosol) to transport rollers and scrap debris within the space manufacturing facility. The KMP 1500P autonomously handles up to 1 ton of scrap debris over a 1.2 km distance and automatically transports heavy-duty roller modules weighing up to 1 ton. Furthermore, sensors embedded in the KMP 1500P enabled the development of an unmanned system capable of safely transporting heavy-duty materials.

STEP 3.Loading carts in the departure area using a robot lift
STEP 4.Transporting carts to the destination area
STEP 5.Unloading carts using a robot lift
STEP 6.Setting automatic charging during non-work hours
STEP 7.Charging
STEP 8.Waiting for work after recovering to the preset battery level
STEP 9.When robots cross, give way to the robot with priority and then cross (priority granting criteria: order of work commands)

A Robot-Built Home?! SPACE FACTORY : Automation of window assembly for modular houses! 🛠️🏠

Process Overview This deployment is the first domestic solution that automates modular housing window-frame assembly by combining KUKA industrial robots, a custom-designed robot gripper, and High Payload Track Motion. SPACE FACTORY introduced this window-frame assembly automation system to reduce construction costs and to produce modular housing with consistent quality. Project Background and Objectives In the existing operation, skilled technicians assembled sash frames manually, which required long working time, and significant manpower was needed to respond to diverse customer requirements. In addition, due to the wide work environment and the complex robot operating environment, real-time monitoring was difficult, creating limitations in process management. The objective of this project is to dramatically reduce working time by automating the window-frame assembly process, build a standardized production system to ensure consistent quality, and maximize process management efficiency through a real-time production monitoring system.

Process Overview This case study features a large, cylindrical raw-material transport solution using OMRON AMRs. Previously, raw-material transport was handled manually, with operators physically rolling large cylindrical containers to move them. Due to operator fatigue and low handling efficiency in this workflow, an automation solution became necessary. In this project, OMRON AMRs were introduced to automate raw-material transport, with the goal of reducing operator burden and significantly improving material-handling efficiency. Project Background and Objectives When raw materials arrived inbound in large containers, the manual transport process required high physical effort and carried a risk of injury. In addition, time loss and workload imbalance led to reduced productivity. The objective of this project is to address these issues by deploying an AMR-based automation solution and realizing more efficient internal logistics operations.
