Process Overview

This implementation case demonstrates the automation of heavy product transportation using Omron AMR logistics robots.


The client company introduced a logistics automation system to reduce inefficiencies and labor burdens arising from repetitive and heavy logistics tasks. In particular, they aimed to reduce costs and maximize logistics efficiency through the automation of palletizing and return shipping.


This solution automates the simple, repetitive tasks of product movement and loading, increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the shipping process and reducing the burden on workers to improve safety and productivity.


Project Background and Purpose

The client company recognized the need for automation in heavy cart handling and lead tab return operations, and sought to improve logistics operational efficiency and reduce operating costs through the introduction of AMRs.

Omron AMR Logistics Robot LD-90: Moves while avoiding obstacles via autonomous driving, equipped with a 2-row conveyor, loads and conveys up to 6 lead tab trays.

Omron AMR Logistics Robot LD-250: Equipped with a lift and combined with a trolley, transports up to 64 lead tab trays, automatically recognizes the trolley, and moves autonomously to the destination.

작업순서

STEP 1.STEP 1. Operator Call: Button click → Receive LD-90 movement command → Autonomous driving to designated location
STEP 2.STEP 2. Tray Loading: Manually load trays onto LD-90 conveyor → Return to composite inspector
STEP 3.STEP 3. Inspection Operation: Docking with inspector → Tray inspection → Load onto buffer conveyor after inspection

Process Overview Hankook & Company's palletizing solution prioritizes higher output and reduced labor requirements. After removing the existing line that was built around a single palletizer, the operation was split into two lines and reconfigured with two palletizers to secure production capacity (CAPA). In addition, manual placement of styrofoam and slip sheets was automated to reduce operator intervention—enabling one operator to manage both lines. Project Background and Objectives Background The previous workflow had an imbalance between line production capacity (CAPA) and palletizing capacity (CAPA), requiring operators to manually support styrofoam and slip-sheet placement to maintain output. This structure forced continuous loading of slip sheets (approx. 7 kg each), causing significant operator fatigue. Also, the line had to wait until manual slip-sheet loading was completed, leading to large fluctuations in the logistics cycle time. Smart Palletizing Using the Hyundai Robotics HH050 and Mech-Mind 3D Vision 🦾🤖

Process Overview This palletizing automation solution uses the Hyundai Robotics HH050 and Mech-Mind 3D vision to detect mixed-size boxes, align them by size, and automatically stack them onto pallets. By leveraging a cost-effective 3D vision system, the cell can reliably palletize even when cartons of varying dimensions are mixed in the flow, ensuring stable operation.
